Pumpkin patch

Last Thursday (October 11th) Sanaa's preschool took a field trip to a nearby pumpkin patch. Nate requested the day off so we could all go and we had a ton of fun. We really liked this pumpkin patch! We started the morning with a train ride.

Sanaa and Layla were very excited about riding the train.

The train took us past the pumpkin field and to an area where there was a hay maze, hay pyramids for the kids to climb on, and loads of pumpkins to choose from.

There were wheelbarrows for us to place our pumpkins in and Layla helped Nate push one around as we picked out the pumpkins we wanted to bring home.

When we were finished with the wheelbarrow Sanaa put it away all by herself! I was impressed.

Next we got to ride a boat that took us back to the main area where there was a gift shop and other things. We didn't spend much time there because we were getting ready to leave. We brought 4 pumpkins home. With the tickets we had through the school each of us (except Malakai) was able to pick out one (soccer size) pumpkin for free.

After the pumpkin patch Sanaa was invited over to her friend Cole's house for a play date. Layla didn't want to be left out so Cole's dad and mom took both girls in their truck to their house for the afternoon. Nate and I (and Malakai) had an unexpected afternoon without the girls! It was great! Nate and I made a trip to Ikea which was SO much easier with just one kid. The girls spent about 4 hours with Cole and did not want to leave. I foresee many play dates in the future whether at our house or his.
